ZAMBALES — Zambales Chromite Mining Company, Inc. and Zambales Diversified Metals Corporation partnered with QESH Training Center & Consultancy OPC for a series of workforce development programs, completing Standard First Aid Training (SFAT) and Training of Trainers (TOT) between August 27 and September 5, 2026.
The consecutive programs reflect the companies’ commitment to developing employees who are not only prepared to respond during workplace emergencies but are also equipped to support knowledge sharing and competency development within their respective organizations.
Building Workplace Emergency Readiness Through Standard First Aid
The training series began with Standard First Aid Training (SFAT), conducted through a blended learning setup. Participants completed the webinar sessions on August 27–28, followed by face-to-face sessions on September 1–2, 2026.
The program provided participants with essential knowledge and practical competencies for responding to injuries, illnesses, and other emergency situations that may occur in the workplace.
Through a combination of theoretical discussions and hands-on activities, participants strengthened their understanding of emergency assessment, appropriate first aid interventions, and the importance of providing immediate and effective assistance while awaiting professional medical care.
The face-to-face component further provided an opportunity to translate classroom knowledge into practical skills, helping participants build greater confidence and preparedness when responding to real-world emergencies.
For organizations operating within the mining sector, where employees may encounter a range of occupational hazards and challenging work environments, having personnel equipped with appropriate first aid knowledge and emergency response skills contributes significantly to overall workplace preparedness.

Developing Internal Training Capability Through Training of Trainers
Following the completion of SFAT, Zambales Chromite Mining Company, Inc. and Zambales Diversified Metals Corporation continued their workforce development initiative through a face-to-face Training of Trainers (TOT) conducted from September 3–5, 2026.
The three-day program focused on developing participants’ ability to effectively facilitate learning and communicate knowledge within the workplace. Participants were introduced to essential principles of adult learning, training preparation, facilitation techniques, presentation skills, participant engagement, and methods for delivering structured and effective training sessions.
Beyond subject knowledge, the program emphasized the importance of communication, confidence, preparation, and audience engagement in becoming an effective trainer. Through discussions and practical learning activities, participants were encouraged to strengthen their ability to transfer knowledge and contribute to the continuous development of their colleagues.
Together, the SFAT and TOT programs provided a broader approach to workforce development. While SFAT strengthened employees’ capability to respond during emergencies, TOT supported the development of personnel who can help reinforce learning and competency within their organizations.
