QUEZON CITY — QESH Training Center & Consultancy OPC conducted a Working at Heights (WAH) Training for Projexasia Construction Corp. on September 19, 2026, at the QESH Training Center in Quezon City, supporting the company’s commitment to strengthening employee competency and managing the risks associated with elevated work activities.
Working at heights is a critical safety concern in the construction industry, where personnel may regularly perform tasks on elevated work platforms, ladders, scaffolds, structures, and other areas where fall hazards may be present. The training emphasized the importance of recognizing these hazards before work begins and ensuring that appropriate preventive and protective measures are in place.
Participants were guided through essential Working at Heights principles, including hazard identification, risk assessment, fall prevention and protection, proper use and inspection of applicable safety equipment, safe work procedures, and emergency preparedness. The program reinforced the importance of proper planning and ensuring that workers understand the controls required before undertaking elevated work.
The session also highlighted that effective fall prevention extends beyond the use of personal protective equipment. Proper supervision, competent personnel, equipment inspection, effective communication, and consistent compliance with established procedures all contribute to reducing the likelihood of fall-related incidents.
Expert-Led Training for Construction Safety
The training was facilitated by Mark Joseph D. Gacutan, an Accredited Occupational Safety and Health Consultant and IRCA-Certified OSHMS ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
Drawing from his professional expertise in Occupational Safety and Health management systems, Gacutan provided participants with practical insights into managing height-related risks and integrating safe work practices into daily operations. The discussions helped participants understand how individual actions, organizational controls, and effective safety management work together to prevent incidents.
