Maersk Completes BOSH SO1 Webinar

Published Jan 07, 2026

MANILA — QESH Training Center & Consultancy OPC conducted a Basic Occupational Safety and Health for Safety Officer 1 (BOSH SO1) webinar for Maersk on December 2–3, with participants completing the mandatory safety orientation through an online learning format.

The training was conducted to strengthen safety awareness, reinforce legal compliance, and equip participants with foundational knowledge on workplace safety and health in accordance with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) requirements.

Participants were guided through essential OSH concepts, including hazard identification, accident prevention, employer and worker responsibilities, and the importance of cultivating a proactive safety culture within the organization. The webinar format allowed participants to engage in discussions while balancing operational demands.

The session was facilitated by Whomer Ricarte, an Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner, EHS Manager, Emergency Medical Technician, and Lead Internal Auditor. His multidisciplinary background provided participants with practical insights that bridged regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, and real-world workplace application.

QESH extends its appreciation to Maersk for trusting QESH as its training partner and for its commitment to strengthening safety awareness among its workforce.
