Published Jan 10, 2026
PASIG CITY — QESH Training Center & Consultancy OPC conducted a Basic Occupational Safety and Health for Safety Officer 1 (BOSH SO1) face-to-face training for CMG Retail Inc. on January 8, 2026, held at the company’s premises located at 12 Jose Cruz St., Ugong, Pasig City.
The training was implemented to strengthen workplace safety awareness and equip participants with the foundational knowledge required to support occupational safety and health initiatives in compliance with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regulations. The face-to-face setup enabled direct interaction, focused discussions, and immediate clarification of OSH concepts relevant to retail operations.
Participants were introduced to the core principles of occupational safety and health, including employer and worker responsibilities, hazard identification, accident prevention, and the role of Safety Officers in promoting a safe and healthy work environment. Emphasis was placed on translating OSH requirements into practical workplace actions.
The session was facilitated by Whomer Ricarte, an Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner, EHS Manager, Emergency Medical Technician, and Lead Internal Auditor. His multidisciplinary background allowed participants to better understand OSH requirements from both a compliance and operational perspective, enriched by real-world workplace examples.
The training also highlighted the value of proactive safety practices—not only as a compliance requirement, but as a key contributor to employee well-being, operational efficiency, and business continuity.
